Iga Vandenhove is a French-Polish artist, graphic designer, and documentary filmmaker. Since 2016, Vandenhove’s works have been evolving around the notion of perception. Through the memory process, she questions the role of memories, remembrance, and representation. The first short movie of the artist entitled ‘The Lords’ focuses on teenage migrants and what they have to endure while waiting for a status and residency permission from the French government.
Her experimental sound art project ‘Les madeleines sonores’ is staged in a social context and deals with various factors such as globalization and migratory flux of people.
During her residency program at the ‘Art Commune’, Iga Vandenove has mainly concentrated on participatory and community-based projects, seeking ways to implicate and create a dialogue and interactions with local artistic and non-artistic communities.
